Food Futures Company, an agrifood innovation design firm, is accepting applications for its flagship global accelerator, which provides alternative protein scale-ups with the opportunity to expand into Asia.
The GROW2Asia Future Protein Program is a five month market entry program that aims to support Australian start-ups to “capture the opportunity in Asia”, helping them to navigate and understand the region and expand their footprint into the ASEAN.
Australian alternative and novel traditional protein scale-ups are encouraged to apply for the Program, which will provide participants with strategic and commercial support through workshops, 1:1 coaching and mentorship, in-market support and access to corporate customers both locally and across the globe.
Applications are open to start-ups working with:
- Plant protein
- Sustainable or novel traditional protein
- Insect protein
- Alternative dairy
- Alternative seafood
- Algae
- Cell-based meat
- Waste value-adding
- New food tech processes
The program is divided into four phases:
Introduction to South East Asia and Exporting – Conducted remotely. This program helped businesses to define their markets for export and optimise their value chain for export success. A series of workshops will be delivered to define and expand on the opportunities of trading in the region using Singapore as a gateway.
Market Access – Participants will be provided with support to prepare their marketing assets and export strategy, in readiness for a trip to Singapore in October.
Scaling your Internationalisation Plan – Mentoring and expert sessions focused on developing a long-term export strategy, with a focus on in-market resourcing including legal and compliance, distribution developing a roadmap for expansion, fundraising in Asia and setting up an advisory board.
Launching into Asia – Tailored support to build a local team and establish business structures. The cohort will participate in the Singapore International Agri-Food Week.
