A new online course delving into the world of cellular agriculture is now available to anyone looking to further their career in this burgeoning sector.
The first of its kind in Australia, ‘An Introduction to Cellular Agriculture in Australia’ comprises six modules that are available via the online learning management system, LearningX.
The course is designed for students and industry professionals, covering a broad range of topics including the science behind cellular agriculture and R&D opportunities in Australia.
Modules include:
- An Introduction to Cellular Agriculture
- An Opportunity for Australia
- An Introduction to Cell Cultivation
- An Introduction to Precision Fermentation
- Scaling Cellular Agriculture
- Food Policy and Regulation in Australia
Sam Perkins, CEO of Cellular Agriculture Australia, said the course is a great step forward for the industry.
“When online learning content is purposefully designed to create engaging experiences and strong education outcomes, it can act as a scalable tool to support further practical and applied skill development, which will be essential for the future of our sector,” he said.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand, the Good Food Institute and All G Foods assisted in compiling the course, as did Vow, Australia’s largest cultivated meat company, which is expected to launch its first product – a cultivated quail ingredient – in Singapore this year.
