Harvest Gourmet, Nestle Professional’s plant-based range for the foodservice market, has announced a new partnership with QSR brand, Lord of the Fries (LOTF).
The partnership – designed to celebrate World Schnitzel Day on 9 September – will see Harvest Gourmet’s new plant-based schnitzel feature in three dishes on the LOTF menu. The dishes will be available nationally from August to October.
The Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel will feature in:
- The Katsu Sando (August): includes Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel, pickled slaw, mayo and Tonkatsu sauce on milky bread.
- Schnitzel Spicy Crunch Burger (September) – Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel, pickled slaw, cheese and spicy mayo.
- Schnitzel BLT (October) – Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo and tomato sauce in a nine-inch seeded sub.
Nestlé Professional Oceania General Manager Scott Stuckmann said, “We are excited to bring a classic Aussie menu item, the schnitzel, to plant-based menus with the creative team behind Lord of the Fries. This builds on our experience providing Australians with tasty plant-based food alternatives.”
Executive Director at Lord of the Fries, Arie Nudel, added, “All three menu items were created to hero the delicious Plant-Based Schnitzel while boasting the Lord of the Fries flair for innovative, on-trend creations. We are happy to collaborate with Harvest Gourmet, known for its high quality, tasty plant-based alternatives.”
The Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel contains more fibre and less sodium per 100g when compared to traditional chicken schnitzel. It’s also vegan and halal certified, and has no artificial colours or flavours.
The Harvest Gourmet Plant-Based Schnitzel is available exclusively to foodservice and can be purchased through Bidfood, PFD or Countrywide.
