The inaugural Naturally Good Awards recognised innovative businesses in Australia’s natural health space.

Hosted as part of the annual Naturally Good tradeshow, the awards were held at a cocktail event on 3 June at Sydney’s ICC.

Categories includes Best Food Product, Best Beverage Product, Best ‘Free From’ Product and Best Socially Conscious Brand, and a number of plant-based brands were amongst the finalists and winners on the night.

Beter Confectionery took home the Best Food Product award for its FUNDAY Natural Sweets range, which includes vegan gummy bear products.

Plant-based finalists in this category included Elato, for its artisanal ice cream and vegan frozen desserts, House of Goodness for its Gourmet Dumplings, and Blue Dinosaur – owned by Forbidden Foods – for its Vegan Protein Bars.

Elato and Garden of Vegan were both finalists in the Best ‘Free From’ Product category, which was ultimately claimed by House of Goodness for its Gourmet Dumplings, which are gluten-free, wheat-free, egg-free, dairy-free, nut-free and sesame-free.

The Best Socially Conscious Brand award was presented to artisanal ice cream brand Elato, while The Mood Food Co, which makes vegan friendly snack bars for children, claimed the Best New Brand Award.

The Trailblazer Award went to Pic Picot of Pic’s Peanut Butter, a New Zealand-based, all natural and vegan peanut butter company.

Running from 6-7 June, the annual Naturally Good B2B expo showcased more than 200 exhibitors from around Australia, representing sectors including food, beverages, beauty, health and homewares.

Naturally Good’s Product Manager, Sinead Kavanaugh, said the expo, now in its seventh year, was a great success.

“Given the challenges of the last few years, it’s been amazing to see all the industry support for businesses in the natural health space. We had incredible retailers attend this year’s expo and the feedback and interest from them has been phenomenal,” she said.
