The R&D Deep Dive event will now be held on Tuesday, 15 November.

Co-hosted by Future Alternative and the University of Sydney’s Alt Protein CRC, the R&D Deep Dive was to take place on 14 October, however scheduled industrial action means the event will be pushed back to 15 November.

The National Tertiary Education Union recently announced it will be holding a 48-hour strike at the University of Sydney on the 13th and 14th October, disrupting access to the campus.

Beyond event attendees having to cross picket lines to enter the campus, many of the support functions for the event e.g. audio visual, catering etc, will have little capacity to service the event.

“We would hate for your experience at the event to be affected by these circumstances, that sadly are beyond our control. Thus, we have made the very difficult decision to change the date of the R&D Deep Dive to the 15th November, 2022,” said Andrew Kemp, Sydney University’s Business Development Manager (Faculty of Science).

Supported by the NSW government, the one-day conference will provide detailed insight into the R&D landscape of Australia’s alt protein sector, with discussion topics including:

  • Food Engineering for the Future
  • Working with Research Providers
  • R&D Support in NSW
  • The Regulatory Framework for Novel Foods
  • Sustainability for Alt Proteins

Leaders from every facet of the alt protein space – including agriculture, manufacturing, government and academia – will take the stage to share their insights, with the day comprising a series of panel discussions and individual presentations, with Q&A periods allowing for audience participation.

Tickets are available for $180pp + GST, and include attendance to the full day event, catering and networking drinks from 5pm.
