Indonesian plant-based protein brand, Green Rebel, has partnered with Malaysian budget airline, AirAsia, adding vegetarian and vegan versions of classic south east Asian dishes to regional flights.
Green Rebel is the first plant-based meat brand to partner with AirAsia in Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.
Part of the airline’s efforts to address its carbon emissions, the partnership will see the following dishes added to the inflight menu:
- Vegan Pak Nasser’s Plant-Based Nasi Lemak on Malaysia flights (from 18 July)
- Vegetarian Guilt-Free Sisig on Philippines flights (from 18 July)
- Vegan Nasi Rendang with assorted vegetables and Vegan Rendang with Coconut Rice on Indonesia flights (from 22 July)
The news follows last month’s announcement that, in its first plant-based partnership, Nando’s Singapore had added Green Rebel’s Chick’n Steak to its menu.
