The Southern Hemisphere’s largest food industry expo, Fine Food Australia, will return to Melbourne in September, and will showcase the latest products from leading alternative protein companies.
Hosted at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 5-8 September, the trade-only event will welcome more than 650 Australian and international exhibitors, from industries including hospitality, catering, retail, distribution, manufacturing and export.
Fine Food Australia will also include a series of competitions, conferences and award programs including:
- New Product Showcase
- The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition
- Nestle Golden Chef’s Hat Competition for apprentice chefs
- ACF Culinary Challenge
- Talking Shop business presentations offering practical solutions and advice for business owners
- Talking Trends panel discussions keeping attendees abreast of what will influence the food and beverage sector in the future.
The event will host a wide range of alternative protein businesses, including but not limited to:
BUDS (All G Foods)
BUDS will be showcasing its plant-based meat products, including sausages, nuggets and burger patties.
Founded two years ago, All G Foods is enjoying increased exposure in both foodservice and retail, and its entrepreneurial founder, Jan Pacas, is currently exploring international opportunities, particularly in Asia. Listen to our podcast episode with Jan below.
Fënn Foods
Queensland-based Fënn Foods also produces plant-based meat alternatives, under the brand vEEF. The company produced the world’s first carbon neutral plant-based mince, and in 2021 was included in the Australian Financial Review’s Fast 100 list.
Green Rebel
Green Rebel is South East Asia’s leading plant-based meat and dairy start-up, co-founded by Helga Angelina and Max Mandias in Indonesia.
Greens & Goodness
This is a new plant-based meat brand from chicken producer, Baiada. Made with pea protein, Greens & Goodness manufactures frozen meals and snacks including Golden Crumbed Garlic & Herb Schnitzel, Golden Tempura Nuggets, Saucy Garlic & Parsley Kievs and Spicy Bombay Tenders.
Vegie Delights
Sanitarium’s plant-based meat brand manufactures vegie roasts, lentil patties, savoury vegie mince as well as hot dogs, sausages, burgers and meatballs.
A number of plant-based milk and dairy brands will also be exhibiting, including:
- Milklab
- Dilectio (plant-based gourmet cheeses)
- Mandole Orcard (almond milk)
- Alternative Dairy Co (another Sanitarium brand), and
