ASX-listed plant-based snack brand Forbidden Foods has entered into a non-exclusive manufacturing alliance with Edenvale Foods to produce its Blue Dinosaur range of products.
Forbidden Foods said that the partnership with Edenvale is expected to unlock considerable growth across the group’s flagship Blue Dinosaur product range over the next 9 months.
Edenvale Foods is a NSW-based contract manufacturer specialising in up-cycling farm seconds into nutrient dense ingredients for use in functional snack bars. The group’s facility is SQF certified and its production lines utilise the latest technology to ensure low-cost manufacturing of products for local and international markets.
Beyond contract manufacturing, Edenvale also works with brands to formulate new recipes and ranges. The company says it has mixing and extrusion capabilities and can flow wrap and palletise finished products and dispatch to distribution centres around Australia and internationally.
Last July, Forbidden Foods – which owns plant-based brands including Blue Dinosaur and FUNCH, as well as an ambient plant-based meat range under the Sensory Mill brand – welcomed Alex Aleksic as its new CEO.
Aleksic said in a statement: “The Agreement with Edenvale has the potential to considerably optimise the Company’s product manufacturing and provide access to the front of the supply chain. We expect the relationship with Edenvale to lead to a sustainable, consistent and low-cost manufacturing opportunity which will negate ongoing out of stock issues with key retailers and reduce lost sales.”
In 2022, Blue Dinosaur established a distribution agreement with KeHE, a food distributor supplying 23 of the top 25 retailers in North America.
